Week 2

  • Saturday
Got the week off to a bang with a group run on Saturday morning, which leaves at 7:30 out of Up and Running in Kettering.  Saturday morning was awesome!!  56 degrees when I left the house; just a beautiful morning for a run, compared to the 90+ degree heat I had been running in that week.

Funny story...  On Saturday morning, I was the only one running with the group (this is the Tnt [http://www.teamintraining.org] group that is training for Disney); the rest of the participants on Saturday were walkers or run/walkers.  So, our head coach, Tom, told his assistant to run with me (we did about 3 1/2 miles).  I started off running with this young man (Brad?  Brian?  I actually forget... sorry, dude, I'll figure it out next week!), and I realized pretty quick I was going to be in trouble trying to keep up with him.  He's about, oh, who knows, 25?  23?  Anybody under 35 is starting to look the same age to me now - YOUNG!  He's also about 3 weeks away from participating in his first Ironman Triathlon.  A full Ironman, mind you.  Basically, I gasped and heaved for 3 1/2 miles, while he blithely chatted away at me.  ;)  It was quite a sight to see, I'm sure.
  • Sunday
Greg kicked my you-know-what with situps, pushups, planks, for about 45 minutes.  Ouch...  I still cannot do more than girly pushups :(  Something else to work on.
  • Monday
Two miles of hills.  More 90+ degree weather.  Ran with Greg, he kept me going.
  • Tuesday
I was supposed to cross train today!  Oops...  Does painting doors and trim count?! :)
  • Wednesday
Finally wised up and ran in the morning (5:30!)  It was 75 degrees at 5:30.  At least I got it over with...
  • Thursday
Greg & I ran two miles tonight together while Abby did tae kwon do.  I sound like a broken record.  Boy, it's hot!
